Abstract:
To successfully burn an air-fuel mixture by using a simple configuration.SOLUTION: An engine having a cylinder body and a cylinder head attached to the cylinder body includes: a piston 15 accommodated in a cylinder bore of the cylinder body; an ignition plug 30 provided in the cylinder head and igniting an air-fuel mixture in a combustion chamber; and an on-off valve provided in the cylinder head and opening/closing a port of the combustion chamber. A cavity 41 opposing to the ignition plug 30, valve recesses 42, 43 opposing to the on-off valve and communication passages 44, 45 for communicating the cavity 41 and the valve recesses 42, 43 with each other are formed on a top surface 40 of the piston 15.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
