Abstract:
To provide an engine which favorably detects abnormality of flow rate control of a bypass flow passage of a supercharger.SOLUTION: An engine includes at least one out of: an exhaust bypass flow passage which is the exhaust bypass flow passage for connecting an exhaust manifold outlet and an exhaust outlet of a supercharger, and in which an exhaust bypass valve V3 is provided; and an intake bypass flow passage which is the intake bypass flow passage for connecting an intake manifold inlet and a supercharger inlet, and in which an intake bypass valve V2 is provided. An intake pressure sensor detects a pressure of the intake manifold. A control device outputs a command value of a valve opening with respect to the intake bypass valve V2 or the exhaust bypass valve V3 so that a detection pressure of the intake pressure sensor approaches a set target pressure, and performs feedback control. In the case where the control device outputs the command value showing an upper limit or a lower limit of the valve opening for predetermined time or longer continuously with respect to the intake bypass valve V2 or the exhaust bypass valve V3, it is determined that there is abnormality in one of the intake bypass valve V2 and the exhaust bypass valve V3, or in both of them.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8
