Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate noisy input of a content of a road traffic sign, and enhance accuracy of specification of a content of a road traffic sign.SOLUTION: An outside-vehicle environment recognition device comprises: an image acquisition part for acquiring an image; a traffic sign specification part for specifying a circle having predetermined radius and whose center is an optional pixel, as a road traffic sign, using the image; a traffic sign content recognition part for recognizing a content of the specified road traffic sign; and a traffic sign content determination part for accumulating traffic sign accumulation points for every road traffic sign, based on an evaluation value for evaluating probability of the content of each of the recognized plural road traffic signs, determines a content of one road traffic sign as an output candidate according magnitude relationship of the traffic sign accumulation points of the plural road traffic signs, timing continuous time in which no road traffic sign is detected, when detection of the road traffic sign ended off, and when the timed continuous time becomes equal to or more predetermined output setting time, outputting the content of one road traffic sign determined as the output candidate.
