Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust emission control device for an internal combustion engine, for hardly causing deposits derived from the components of additive to be accumulated in a guide pipe and at the front end of an addition valve.SOLUTION: The exhaust emission control device for the internal combustion engine includes a catalyst, an exhaust pipe 10 for guiding exhaust gas from the internal combustion engine to the catalyst, a guide pipe 41 connected to an elbow part 11 as a curved part of the exhaust pipe 10 and branching from the exhaust pipe 10, and an addition valve 40 inserted into the guide pipe 41 and mounted via the guide pipe 41 in the exhaust pipe 10. Additive injected from the addition valve 40 is introduced through the guide pipe 41 from the elbow part 11 into the exhaust pipe 10 for promoting reaction in the catalyst. The exhaust emission control device further includes a bypass pipe 50 branching from a part of the exhaust pipe 10 on the further upstream side than the elbow part 11 and connected to the guide pipe 41 so that the exhaust gas flows into the guide pipe 41 toward the side of the elbow part 11, and an electric heater 51 for warming the bypass pipe 50.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
