Abstract:
To provide an exhaust pipe valve arranged in an exhaust pipe of an internal combustion engine, capable of suppressing ill effects of abnormal sound and wear while establishing a non-linear relation between force to open the valve and the opening of the valve.SOLUTION: In one embodiment, the exhaust pipe valve arranged in the exhaust pipe of the internal combustion engine includes a valve seat, a valve stem, a valve element, a first spring, a second spring, and an inhibition mechanism, the first spring functioning as a torsion spring and having one end abutting on the valve element, the second spring functioning as a torsion spring and having one end abutting on the valve seat and the other end connected in series to the first spring, the inhibition mechanism constructed to allow the movement of a connection site between the first spring and the second spring to increase a load on the second spring and to inhibit the movement to reduce a load on the second spring, in the state that an initial load is applied to the second spring so as to resist force to open the valve element.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
