Title:
POWDER FEED COMPOSITION FOR FORMING HIGH MELTING POINT OXIDE THERMAL SHOCK RESISTANT COATING, PROCESS AND ARTICLE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH0718405
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To form high m.p. oxide coating having thermal shock wear and spalling resistances.

CONSTITUTION: Thermal spraying powder feed compsn. contg. the particles of zirconia silicate in a mixed state with the particles of zirconia stabilized by the oxide of CaO, Y2O3, MgO, CeO2, and HfO2 is thermally-sprayed on a base material by plasma or with an explosion gun or the like to form a coating compsn. contg. ZrO2.x {(x) denotes one kind of oxide for stabilization}, ZrSiO4 and SiO2. It is preferable that an undercoat of a ceramic-metal alloy is adhered to the metallic base material before the thermal spraying. It preferably contains at least 40 wt.% stabilized zirconia and ≤60 wt.% zirconium silicate. It is effective as coating for a hearth roll for continuously annealing steels.
