Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine a case where an external thunder protection system is not normally operated due to abnormality of the external thunder protection system and thunderbolt to the outside of the external thunder protection system, or a case where the external thunder protection system is normally operated.SOLUTION: An external thunder protection system includes optical fiber current sensors 26A-26C disposed near receptors 18A-18C to detect thunderbolt current flowing in a down-conductor (lightning protection lead wires 20A-20F and the like), electric optical elements 28A-28C disposed near the receptors 18A-18C to detect electric field temporarily generated by thunderbolt to the receptors 18A-18C, and a control portion 16 for determining a normal operation of the external thunder protection system including the receptors 18A-18C and the down-conductor (lightning protection lead wires 20A-20F and the like) on the basis of the current detected by the optical fiber current sensors 26A-26C and the field intensity detected by the electric optical elements 28A-28C.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
