Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low cost feeder for adhesive binding machine achieving reliable and highly-efficient book block feed with a reduced required installation area.SOLUTION: A feeder for adhesive binding machine comprises: a substantially horizontal feed section 1 for feeding a book block 1000 in a transport direction T; a front stopper 5 which is provided at an end of the feed section and brakes the book block; and a gripper 11 which is provided at the end of the feed section, and grips and holds the book block. The gripper has a rotation axis line 17 and rotation drive devices 10, 9, 14 for turning the book block from a substantially horizontal position on the feed section to a substantially vertical position at which the book block is transferred into a book block clamp 201 of the adhesive binding machine 200. The rotation axis line is oriented horizontal with respect to a transport plane E and orthogonal with respect to the transport direction, and the gripper is pivotally supported by a linear guide carriage 9. Thus the book block can be moved in the transport direction or in a direction opposite to the transport direction, by moving the linear guide carriage along a liner guide corresponding to the linear guide carriage.
