Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject piece of clothing capable of obviating puckering phenomena due to laundering, and to provide a method of forming seams so as not to develop puckers.
SOLUTION: This invention comprises: the outer surface of the 1st clothing constituent 26 constituting an open sleeve of a shirt and the upper surface of the 2nd clothing constituent 28 constituting a sleeve are put so as to come into contact with each other to define a seam 24; a binding strip 38 is put on the inner surface of the 1st clouting constituent 26 which, in turn, is revertedly folded so as to enclose the strip 38; the 1st clothing constituent 26 is further folded revertedly so that its outer surface come into contact with the underside of the 2nd clouting constituent 28; the folded portion of the 1st clothing constituent 26, the binding strip 38 and the 2nd clothing constituent 28 are mutually sewn by stitches 50 so as to penetrate therethrough; the whole binding strip 38 is subjected to both heat and pressure to effect melting of a heat seal element so as to allow it to flow throughout the surface of the binding strip 38, thus bonding the 1st clothing constituent 26 and the bonding strip 38 to each other.
