Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device capable of achieving use up to the end of a net replacement life, regardless of a use frequency and preventing the function stop of the whole device caused by a failure due to the delay of replacement and to provide an image forming apparatus.SOLUTION: The fixing device includes a fixing belt 22, a heat source 23 which heats the fixing belt 22, a main body control part 51 which is temperature control means for adjusting the heat generation amount of the heat source 23 and controlling the temperature of the fixing belt 22, a pressure roller 21 which forms a nip together with the fixing belt 22, a nip forming member 24 which faces the pressure roller 21 inside the fixing belt 22, to form the nip, a pressurizing/depressurizing device 59 which pressurizes and depressurizes the nip forming member 24 and the pressure roller 21 through the fixing belt 22, a pressure roller driving device 30 which drives the pressure roller 21, and driving load detection means which detects the driving load amount of the pressure roller driving device 30. When the driving load amount detected by the driving load detection means exceeds a set value, the pressurizing/depressurizing device 59 is actuated to the depressurizing side.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
