Provided are a flexible object insertion apparatus and a flexible object bagging apparatus, by which a flexible object can be inserted in a bag by a small number of operations without unnecessarily deforming the flexible object. A flexible object insertion apparatus (1) is provided with a bottom surface member which guides a flexible object in the horizontal direction, a support means for supporting a bag so that an opening of the bag is opposed to the flexible object, a contact surface member (13) arranged on the upper side of the flexible object, a contact surface member raising/lowering means (15) for raising/lowering the contact surface member (13), a press-in plate which is pressed against the flexible object in the horizontal direction, and a horizontal movement means (21) for moving the press-in plate (19) along the contact surface member (13) in the horizontal direction. The contact surface member raising/lowering means (15) positions the contact surface member (13) so that the contact surface member (13) is located at the height proximate to the flexible object, and the horizontal movement means (21) moves the contact surface member (13) to the location from which the contact surface member (13) can enter the opening of the bag, and the flexible object (3) is moved into the opening (9) of the bag (7) by the press-in plate (19).
