Abstract:
The fluid pump in the fuel supply system (10), and especially a high pressure fuel pump for an internal combustion motor with a common rail direct fuel injection, has a housing (50) with at least one low pressure inflow connection (18) for the fuel to flow through an inflow valve into the delivery zone (32) defined by the piston (30). A damper (48) damps pressures at the inflow side of the pump, with at least one compressible gas volume (76) defined by at least one membrane (78a,78b) directly in the flow path (46) between the low pressure connection and the inflow valve.
