PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a focal plane shutter and camera that surely prevent bounds of blades when an exposure operation travelling is ended, prevent backlashes of the blades adversely affecting the exposure, and can shorten a converging time of the blade bounds when a return travelling is ended to be shortened.SOLUTION: A locking mechanism has: a locking lever 15 that has a locking part 15a rotatable centering around a shaft, locking a locked part 11c of a first driving member 11 to one end, and preventing a rotation in a set direction of the first driving member; a solenoid 16 that is driven by electrification to rotate the locking lever in a direction releasing a lock to the unlocked part; a bound prevention mechanism that allows a plunger 16a of the solenoid having the electrification maintained to prevent bounds arising from impacts when the first driving member and blade return travelling are ended; a return spring 25 that is provided in the locking lever, and causes the locking lever and the plunger of the solenoid to return to an initial position thanks to release of the electrification to the solenoid.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
