PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely and stably suppress blade drive members from bounding.SOLUTION: A focal plane shutter includes: a blade drive member 4 that is coupled to a blade 51; an acceleration member 72 that imparts the blade drive member driving force in a part of a travelling section of the blade; and a lock member 77 that has a stopper part 77e abutting against an abutting part 4a provided in the blade drive member after completion of the blade travelling to suppress the blade drive member from bounding. The lock member 77 is movable between a first position where the stopper part enters a movement range of the abutting part to be capable of abutting against the abutting part and a second position where the stopper part retreats from the movement range, and is energized toward the first position. The lock member is pushed by the abutting part halfway through the blade travelling to move from the first position to the second position. Prior to the completion of the blade travelling, the abutting part separates from the lock member prior to the completion of the blade travelling to thereby move the lock member to the first position, and after the completion of the travelling, the lock member is pushed by the acceleration member to thereby move to the second position.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
