Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a focal plane shutter that can suppress occurrence of foreign matters.SOLUTION: A focal plane shutter comprises: a base plate 11; rear curtain drive arms 41b and 42b; a blade 31b that is driven by the rear curtain drive arms 41b and 42b; and a buffer member 50 that abuts against the blade 31b moving from a retreat position to a development position, and is elastically deformable. The blade 31b extends so as to run along a first direction L1. The rear curtain drive arms 41b and 42b can oscillate around oscillation centers P1 and P2 provided more on one side in a first direction L1 from the blade 31b. The buffer member 50 comprises: an abutting part 51 that abuts against a lateral edge part 35b of the blade 31b; a holding part 53 that is arranged on a side opposite to the blade 31b across the abutting part 51; and a connection part 55 that connects the abutting part 51 to the holding part 53. The connection part 55 is configured to extend obliquely toward the oscillation centers P1 and P2 with respect to a second direction L2 orthogonal to the first direction L1.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
