PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a focusing position detection device that can detect a focusing position of a photographing part from an image which is photographed with the photographing part and in which a moving object is taken.SOLUTION: A focusing position detection device 1 has: a detection part 21 that detects a moving object taken in an image generated by a photographing part 2; a tracking part 22 that updates trace information expressing a transition of a position of the moving object on the image; a blur index calculation part 23 that, for each of a plurality of pieces of trace information, calculates an index of a degree of blur at each position of the moving object on the image indicated by the trace information; an individual focus range estimation part 24 that, for each of the plurality of pieces of trace information, estimates a range having a focusing position of the photographing part 2 included according to a comparison result of the index of the degree of blur at each position of the moving object on the image indicated by the trace information and a distance from the photographing part 2 corresponding to each position on the image indicated by the trace information; and a focusing position estimation part 25 that estimates a focusing position in a part where respectively estimated ranges for the plurality of pieces of trace information coincide with each other.
