Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a user to focus on a desired object in a situation where an image is affected by camera shake or the like without sacrificing user friendliness.SOLUTION: A system control unit 115 selectively operates in a first focus adjustment mode, in which focus is adjusted to an object specified on an image corresponding to image data, or a second focus adjustment mode in which an object is detected as a detected object in the image data and focus is adjusted to the detected object. When an object is specified on an image while operating in the first focus adjustment mode, the system control unit adjusts focus onto the specified object and fixes a focal position of the focusing lens. When an object is specified on an image while operating in the second focus adjustment mode, the system control unit adjusts focus onto the specified object and continues focus adjustment using the focusing lens.
