Abstract:
The present invention relates to a food composition for stimulating growth, comprising a fraction isolated from whey derived from mammalian colostrum or milk. More particularly, the present invention relates to a food composition for stimulating growth, comprising a fraction isolated from mammalian whey, wherein the fraction was removed alpha-lactoalbumin and beta-lactoglobulin from the whey and had a molecular weight of 1-30 kD, as well as a method for stimulating growth, which comprises administering the food composition to mammals in need thereof, and a use of the isolated fraction for preparing the growth-stimulating food composition.
