To provide a method for molding the composite material joint of a tank which can mold the joint without causing deformation such as distortion even when the tank is large in size.
When at least two composite material layers are laminated on the composite material tank 1 having an approximately hemispherical end part 2 to mold a joint part 5 surrounding the end part 2 while forming a surface approximately equal to the outer surface 4 of the tank 1, a cylindrical mandrel 10 having the same diameter as the tank 1 has is fitted coaxially to the end part 2 of the tank 1. After two sheets 12 of polytetrafluoroethylene of a low friction material are laminated on the outer surface 11 of the mandrel 10, at least two composite material layers are laminated on the outer surface 11 of the mandrel 10 covered with the sheets 12 and the outer surface of the tank 1 to cover both outer surfaces, heated, and cured to mold the composite material joint part 5.
