Abstract:
To provide a friction damper comprising a structure in which the lengths of fastening members for fastening sliding plates to structural materials can be shortened.SOLUTION: A friction damper absorbs energy in association of relative movement of a first structural material and a second structural material, and comprises: two first sliding plates provided on the first structural material, and arranged opposite to each other; a second sliding plate provided on the second structural material, sandwiched between the two first sliding plates, and capable of sliding on the two first sliding plates; and an intermediate member provided on the first structural material, and sandwiched between the two first sliding plates together with the second sliding plate. The intermediate member comprises a first fastened part fastened by only one sliding plate out of the two first sliding plates and a first fastening member, and a second fastened part fastened by only the other sliding plate out of the two first sliding plates and a second fastening member.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
