Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a friction transmission belt capable of improving side pressure resistance while keeping fuel efficiency.SOLUTION: In a friction transmission belt including a compression rubber layer 5 having a friction transmission surface capable of at least partially being kept into contact with a pulley, and composed of vulcanizate of a rubber composition including a rubber component and short fiber 7, a lubricant 8 including wax exists on at least a part of the friction transmission surface. An area ratio occupied by the lubricant to the whole friction transmission surface may be 50% or more. A melting point of the lubricant may be a vulcanization temperature of the belt or less. The lubricant may further include fatty acid amide. The rubber composition may include the lubricant. A ratio of the lubricant to 100 pts.mass of the rubber component is about 0.5-10 pts.mass. A ratio of the short fiber to 100 pts.mass of the rubber component may be 30 pts.mass or less. The short fiber may project from the friction transmission surface. The short fiber may be oriented in a belt width direction. The rubber component may be chloroprene rubber.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
