Abstract:
The present invention provides KIF1Bb protein, a novel polypeptide having motor activity that transports synaptic vesicle precursor. The present invention also provides a polynucleotide encoding the polypeptide, a method for preparing the polypeptide, and use thereof, such as diagnosis method for kif1Bb gene-associated disease. The polypeptide of the present invention, a gene encoding the polypeptide, and a compound that ameliorates the symptom of the kif1Bb gene-associated disease are useful for developing a therapeutic or preventive agent for kif1Bb gene-associated disease, for example, Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease type 2A.
