Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method which enables efficient concentration separation and recovery of gold from a mixture containing a plurality of metals.SOLUTION: A gold recovery method based on the chloride volatilization method includes a first step of heating a mixture containing gold, metals other than gold and solid carbon to carry out a chloride volatilization treatment on the mixture in a chlorine atmosphere and a second step of recovering gold captured by the sold carbon after the first step. The attainment temperature of the mixture in the first step is 400-1,000°C, and, after the temperature of the mixture is raised to the attainment temperature in an inert gas atmosphere, the atmosphere is switched to a chlorine atmosphere while keeping the temperature of the mixture. The solid carbon is amorphous, and the method includes further a mixing step of mixing a raw material containing gold and metals other than gold with the solid carbon to obtain the mixture.
