Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for recovering gold capable of selectively recovering, from a strong acidic solution including gold and metals other than gold, gold of high quality easily and inexpensively.SOLUTION: In the provided method for recovering gold, a reductant is added to a strong acidic solution including gold and metals other than gold and having a pH of 1 or below so as to realize an oxidation-reduction potential (silver-silver chloride electrode) of 400 mV or above and below 700 mV and to induce the reduction and deposition of gold. An embodiment wherein the oxidation-reduction potential (silver-silver chloride electrode) is 700 mV or above prior to the addition of the reductant to the strong acidic solution, an embodiment wherein the reductant is at least one type selected from the group consisting of hydrazine, hydrazine carbonate, and hydrazine sulfate, etc. are desirable.
