Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a golf club shaft and its manufacturing method, the shaft that is lightweight and has high rigidity and resilient properties, and also is superior in directional properties of the hitting ball.SOLUTION: A gold club shaft has multiple fiber-reinforced resin layers 14, 16, 18, 20, 22, 24 with fibers arranged in a diagonal direction to a longitudinal direction of a golf club shaft 10. The fibers comprise artificial polypeptide fibers being polypeptide derived from natural spider silk protein. The fiber reinforced resin layers 14, 16 include an angle layer 15 comprising multiple layers with the fibers arranged in the diagonal direction to the longitudinal direction of the golf club shaft 10 so as to cross to each other. The fiber reinforced resin layers 14, 16, 18, 20, 22, 24 form prepregs 26, 28, 32 obtained by impregnating resin in the layer of the artificial polypeptide fibers, and the prepregs 26, 28, 32 are wound around a mandrel 30 so that the fibers may be arranged in the diagonal direction to the longitudinal direction of the golf club shaft 10, and are dried and cured.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
