Abstract:
To detect liquid-phase refrigerant before it is discharged from a gas-phase refrigerant discharge port without complicating a structure of a gas-liquid separator.SOLUTION: In a heat pump device, a gas-liquid separator 7 is provided with an intermediate refrigerant discharge port 7e that can supply separated liquid-phase refrigerant to intermediate piping 9 upstream of an internal heat exchanger 10 from a position higher than a liquid-phase refrigerant discharge port 7c1 but lower than a gas-phase refrigerant discharge port 7d1. The heat pump device controls openings of a high-stage expansion valve 6 and a low-stage expansion valve 8 so as to lower a liquid level in the gas-liquid separator 7 when a control unit 20 detects that the degree of superheat of refrigerant has fallen below a predetermined threshold.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
