Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve forgeability and to improve service life of a die by applying lubricant having the prescribed thickness under drying condition and solid film formability to the cut surface of a raw material to be new surface just after cutting preceding to the forging work.

CONSTITUTION: At abutting surface side to a raw material 10 for stopper 20 in the raw material 10 cut by an upper cutter 18 heated by an induction heating device 14, a spray 22 is arranged. The lubricant supplied from a supplying port 26 is sprayed on the cutting surface of the raw material from the spray 22. By spraying the lubricant, a lubricant film having the prescribed thickness is formed on one end surface of the raw material. On the other hand, the spray 22 is provided on the front of a pusher 24, too, and also, the lubricant is sprayed on the other end surface of the raw material after cutting, to form the lubricant film having the prescribed thickness on the end surface of raw material. By this method, even in the case of heating and working the raw material, oxidizing deterioration of the lubricant is prevented, and the forgeability is improved and the service life of die can be remarkably improved.
