Abstract:
To provide a high-voltage circuit breaker with an improved gas damper and a method.SOLUTION: A manufacturing/breaking unit (3) includes a first contact element (4) and a second contact element (5) for forming an electrically conductive connection, and at least the first contact element is movable along an axially extending switching axis (6) of a high-voltage circuit breaker, and operatively couples the first contact elements of the at least two manufacturing/breaking units, the high-voltage circuit breaker further includes a drive device (7) that is connected to the first contact element of the at least one manufacturing/breaking unit and is configured to move the first contact element along the switching axis over a travel distance for separating the conductive connection, and a gas damper (9) that is connected to the first contact element of the at least one manufacturing/breaking unit and configured to dampen the movement of the first contact element with damping force that increases with respect to the travel distance.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
