Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for detecting thermal expansion of a low thermal expansion material with very high measurement accuracy of at most ±3 ppb/K or less and/or with a reproducibility of at most ±1 ppb/K or less.SOLUTION: An embodiment comprises a push rod 30, a fork 20, and springs for holding the push rod within the fork. The fork and the push rod are formed monolithically. An optical interferometer 60 is used as a detector to detect a position of the push rod relative to the fork.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
