Abstract:

This die (20) is used for extrusion molding of a honeycomb structure (70) which has a cell structure (70b) in which a large number of through holes (70c) are arranged substantially in parallel and the plurality of through holes (70c) are arranged in square shapes when viewed from an end face, and has a side face covered by an outer peripheral skin (70a). A spacer (24) attached to the die (20) comprises an opening reduction unit (24b) to reduce the inner diameter of the spacer to thereby reduce the volume of a raw material composition forming the cell structure (70b) around the outer peripheral skin (70a).
