To provide a humidifying method, and a humidifier which is a humidifier humidifying a room by water contents trapped by an adsorbent, capable of reducing leakage to the room of odor contents trapped along with the moisture contents.
The humidifier is provided with an air supply passage 1 supplying air of outdoors 6, an exhaust passage 2 exhausting air of the room 7, an adsorbent holding mechanism 3 positioning one parts of the adsorbent 4 respectively in the air supply passage 1 and the exhaust passage 2, and a heating means 51 arranged in the air supply passage 1. The adsorbent 4 is an adsorbent desorbing moisture contents by being heated to a temperature T1 or higher and desorbing odorous contents by being heated to a temperature T2 or more that is higher than the temperature T1. In humidifying operation, moisture contents are adsorbed in the exhaust passage 2, and moisture contents substantially not accompanied by odor are desorbed in the air supply passage 1.
