Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydraulic drive device having a simple structure capable of restricting that a head chamber shows a negative pressure and provide its controlling method.SOLUTION: This invention relates to a hydraulic drive device comprising a cylinder [101], a rod [103], a piston [102], a hydraulic pump [107], a tank [113], and a valve [106] capable of changing over between a positive state in which it connects between the hydraulic pump [107] and a head chamber [101h] and connecting between a rod chamber [101r] and the tank [113] and a negative state in which the hydraulic pump [107] and the rod chamber [101r] are connected and the head chamber [101h] and the tank [113] are connected, and a confluent flow passage [114] for merging at least a part of working fluid flowing from the rod chamber [101r] toward the tank [113] with working fluid flowing from the hydraulic pump [107] toward the head chamber [101h] when the valve [106] is kept at the positive state.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
