PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrogen filling device and a hydrogen filling method that can automatize the filling of hydrogen into a hydrogen-fueled automobile to simplify filling work.SOLUTION: A hydrogen filling device 4 comprises a detecting device 6, a moving device 7, a connecting device 8, a hydrogen supply device 5, and a control device 9. The detecting device detects a gas supply port 26 of a hydrogen-fueled automobile 110. The moving device guides a hydrogen filling nozzle 25 to the gas supply port detected by the detecting device. The connecting device connects and fastens the gas supply port and the filling nozzle. The hydrogen supply device supplies and fills hydrogen into a hydrogen tank of the hydrogen-fueled automobile from the filling nozzle. The control device controls the moving device to guide the filling nozzle to the gas supply port of the hydrogen-fueled automobile detected by the detecting device, and controls the hydrogen supply device to fill hydrogen into the hydrogen tank of the hydrogen-fueled automobile after the gas supply port and the filling nozzle are connected and fastened by the connecting device.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
