Abstract:
To provide a hydrogen storage material releasing hydrogen at a low temperature.SOLUTION: A hydrogen storage material of the present invention is a composite oxide having a perovskite type oxide structure whose basic structure is represented by general formula ABO3, and contains barium (Ba), zirconium (Zr), and oxygen (O), and further contains metal (M) and hydrogen (H). The elemental composition is as follows: 12 to 21 atom% of barium (Ba), 8 to 21 atom% of zirconium (Zr), 50 to 62 atom% of oxygen (O), 4 to 16 atom% of metal (M), and 2 to 13 atom% of hydrogen (H). Since the metal (M) is indium (In) or yttrium (Y), hydrogen is introduced in a state where the oxygen coordination in the structure is destabilized, and since a desired amount of hydrogen is contained, a hydrogen storage material that releases hydrogen at a lower temperature can be provided.SELECTED DRAWING: None
