PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet postprocessing device which allows opening of a folded sheet at a folding position by folding a binding member itself by a folding processing unit and also allows a connection portion of the folded folding member to aid in opening and closing the folded sheet.SOLUTION: The sheet postprocessing device comprises: a stacker unit 35 for temporarily stacking sheets in a bundle; a stopper member 38 for regulating the carried-in direction leading edges carried into the stacker unit 35; a sheet side-edge alignment member 39 for alignment in the width direction; binding means 40 for binding a position-regulated sheet bundle 100 with a paper-made staple 60; and a folding processing unit (folding rollers 45 and a folding blade 46) for performing a folding process on the sheet bundle bound by the binding member. The paper-made staple 60 comprises: leg portions 61 and 62 which are passed through the sheet bundle and bent to each other; and a connecting portion 60a which connects the leg portions. The binding processing unit inserts the leg portions into the sheet bundle to bind the sheet bundle, and the folding processing unit folds the sheet bundle and also the connecting portion 60a.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 15
