Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet processing device which suppresses increase in the size of the device, increase in power consumption, and increase in cost without increasing the size of a drive source only for ascending/descending movement of a discharge roller.SOLUTION: A sheet processing device includes: a sheet processing unit which processes a sheet bundle placed on a placement tray 54; a conveyance roller 44 which conveys sheets to the placement tray 54 or conveys the succeeding sheets and switch back-conveys the succeeding sheets to the upstream side again; a stand-by path (branch path 70) of the succeeding sheets; and a swingable discharge roller (discharge upper roller 48a) which discharges the sheet bundle processed on the placement tray 54 to a loading tray (first accumulation tray 24) located on the downstream side, or switch back-conveys the succeeding sheets conveyed from the conveyance roller 44 to the placement tray 54. The sheet processing device selects whether to receive the succeeding sheets at the nip position of the discharge roller or receive the sheets at the open position depending on the number of succeeding sheets conveyed by the conveyance roller 44.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 25
