Abstract:
To provide an image forming apparatus that can prevent unnecessary extension of a stirring time of a stirring member.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus comprises: a stirring member for stirring toner inside a storage unit; a driving source that drives the stirring member; and a control unit that, based on the transition of a supply unit to a suppliable state with the drive of the driving source being permitted, drives the driving source so that the stirring member is driven. When initial control is executed, if it is determined that toner is increased based on an output value from a residual amount detection unit, the control unit executes first operations to drive the driving source so that the stirring member is driven for a first time, and if it is determined that toner is not increased based on the output value from the residual amount detection unit, executes second operations to drive the driving source so that the stirring member is driven for a second time shorter than the first time.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 14
