Abstract:
To control electric power of a resistance heating element properly on target.SOLUTION: An image formation device has an exterior member (a lateral face cover 101) opening and closing when mounting and demounting a fixation device 300, and the fixation device comprises: resistance heating elements (PTC elements 361-368); temperature detection means (temperature sensors TH1 and TH2) that detect the temperature of the resistance heating elements; electric power control means (an electric power control unit 400) that controls electric power of the resistance heating elements; and mounting/demounting/exchange detection means 460 that detects whether the resistance heating elements are mounted/demounted, and exchanged. When the mounting/demounting/exchange detection means is caused to activate by the opening/closing of the exterior member, the mounting/demounting/exchange detection means is configured to detect the mounting/demounting/exchange of the resistance heating elements, the electric power control means supplies an electric power duty 100% to the resistance heating elements as a prescribed adjustment-purpose electric power duty continuously without interruption over a prescribed supply period before the use of the resistance heating elements; acquires the electric power of the resistance heating elements and a temperature change of the resistance heating elements detected by the temperature detection means while supplying the adjustment-purpose electric power duty; and adjusts the electric power duty during use of the resistance heating elements in accordance with the electric power and the temperature change.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6D
