PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the scale of a circuit for achieving the image processing to which Retinex theory is applied.SOLUTION: An image processing apparatus includes an acquisition unit for acquiring image data, a first modulation unit for modulating the reflection absorption component by multiplying the reflection absorption component, based on the difference of the pixel value of a target pixel in the image data acquired, and the illumination light component of the target pixel, by a first coefficient, a second modulation unit for modulating the illumination light component by multiplying the illumination light component by a second coefficient, and an addition unit for adding the modulated reflection absorption component and the modulated illumination light component.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
