Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent moire appearing in a read image line when MTF is temporarily deteriorated when a scanner reads an original.SOLUTION: An image processing device comprises: emphasis processing means (filter section 13) for performing emphasis processing on input image data that is read by a scanner and generating processed image data; an image area separating section 11 for separating a dot area from the input image data; a determination section 15 for determining whether dots in density of a background level exist between dots of adjacent prescribed densities in the dot area; and a density conversion section 17 for converting the density of at least one dot between the dots of the adjacent prescribed densities into the density of the background level when the determination section 15 determines that the dot in the density of the background level does not exist between the dots of the adjacent prescribed densities.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
