Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the number of images superposed at each position uniform, by suppressing generation of noise when creating a wide-angle composite image from a plurality of images.SOLUTION: Images 601-607 are captured continuously by means of a digital camera 100 while changing the shooting range, and then duplicate regions 701-706 where a subject duplicates between adjacent images are identified sequentially. Number-of-times-of synthesis maps 801-806 calculating the number of times of superposition of the duplicate regions 701-702, for each region of different number of times of superposition when the images 601-607 are superposed sequentially, are created so that the number of times of superposition of the duplicate regions 701-706 does not exceed a predetermined upper limit number of times of superposition in each region of the-number-of-times-of synthesis maps 801-806. Based on the-number-of-times-of synthesis maps 801-806 thus created, a wide-angle composite image 610 is created by sequentially synthesizing the images 601-607 while connecting the regions reaching the upper limit number of times of synthesis.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8
