PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor and an image decoloring method capable of performing efficient decoloring processing.SOLUTION: An image processor has a paper feeding part, a first conveyance path, a detection part, a heating part, a second conveyance path and a control part. The paper feeding part feeds a sheet. The first conveyance path serves as a conveyance path of the sheet fed from the paper feeding part. The detection part provided at a downstream side of the paper feeding part along the first conveyance path for detecting an image formed on the sheet. The heating part provided at a downstream side of the detection part along the first conveyance path for performing decoloring processing to the sheet by giving it predetermined heat quantity from a first face side of the sheet. The second conveyance path branches from a branching point at a downstream side of the heating part and merges with a merging point at an upstream side of the heating part with respect to the first conveyance part. The control part controls the number of times of the decoloring processing to be performed on the sheet and the heat quantity to be given to the sheet in the decoloring processing on the basis of a detection result by the detection part.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
