Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reading device capable of achieving a reduction in size of the device.SOLUTION: An image reading device comprises: a first image reading unit capable of reading a surface of a medium transported along a transportation path; a second image reading unit placing the medium on a medium reading surface and being capable of reading the surface of the medium; and an opening/closing body provided so as to be able to switch between a closed attitude and an opened attitude with respect to the medium reading surface. At least a part of the medium reading surface overlaps with at least a part of the first image reading unit in a device height direction. Further, the image reading device comprises the opening/closing body provided so as to be able to switch between the closed attitude and the opened attitude with respect to the medium reading surface. At least a part of the opening/closing body overlaps with at least a part of the first image reading unit in the device height direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
