Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem that since a pixel signal from a pixel is subjected to image processing by an image processing chip, separate from an imaging unit, the processing speed decreases if the signal output band of signal lines, between an imaging unit and the image processing chip, is not increased.SOLUTION: Provided is an image sensor that comprises: an imaging unit provided on a first substrate and having a plurality of pixels; and a signal compression unit provided on a second substrate laminated on the first substrate to compress signals from the imaging unit. A plurality of connection electrodes are formed on the surface of the first substrate in contact with the second substrate, and a plurality of connection electrodes are formed on the surface of the second substrate in contact with the first substrate. The imaging unit and the signal compression unit may be connected electrically by joining the plurality of connection electrodes each other.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8
