PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain focusing accuracy even when focusing in a periphery of a photographing screen.SOLUTION: An imaging device has: a focus detection unit 6 that detects a focus state of an imaging optical system at a focus detection point; a camera CPU9 that corrects focus sensitivity level on the basis of a position of the focus detection point and a focal length of the imaging optical system, and calculates an amount of drive of a focus lens 22 and drive direction thereof on the basis of the focus state and the corrected focus sensitivity.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
