Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to more appropriately perform exposure control and focus detection in an imaging element including a focus detection pixel.SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus includes: an imaging element (107); a CPU (121) for controlling an electric charge storage time in the imaging element; an operation switch (132) for selecting either of a first mode in which an electric signal output from the imaging element is not output as a visible image and a second mode in which the electric signal is output as a visible image; photometry means (121, 125) for performing a photometry on the basis of the electric signal output from the imaging element; and focus detection means (121, 125) for performing focus detection on the basis of the electric signal output from the imaging element. The imaging apparatus controls the electric charge storage time by using an integral multiple of a period of a horizontal synchronization signal. The imaging apparatus sets the electric charge storage time's shortest storage time to be a first time when the first mode is selected; and sets the shortest storage time to be a second time equal to or longer than the first time when the second mode is selected.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
