Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize an image pickup device including a microlens array having microlenses disposed one for each of a plurality of photoelectric conversion units, which can execute an image pickup operation and some other functions at the same time without having to add a new constituent element.SOLUTION: The image pickup device comprises: image pickup means including a plurality of recording pixel regions (501) consisting of a plurality of divided two-dimensionally disposed photoelectric conversion units (104) and a microlens array containing a plurality of first microlenses (503) located between an image pickup lens and the photoelectric conversion units and disposed one for each of the recording pixel regions; and processing means for generating a still picture image from an electric signal output from a first photoelectric conversion unit among the plurality of photoelectric conversion units, each constituting the respective recording pixel regions, and performs processing other than still picture generation on the basis of an electric signal output from a second photoelectric conversion unit. The first photoelectric conversion unit receives light condensed by the first microlens, and the second photoelectric conversion unit receives light not condensed by the first microlens.
