Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging device and imaging method capable of notifying a photographer that exposure control positively using an effect specific to a backlight scene can be performed.SOLUTION: The face part of a person in image data obtained from a light flux received by an imaging element 102 is detected in a face detection circuit 108. A micro-computer 114 compares the brightness of the face part with the brightness of a background part, and when the brightness of the background part is higher than the brightness of the face part, performs exposure control to set the exposure value of the face part at a second proper level higher than a first proper level and set the exposure value of the background part at a value higher than the second proper level.
