A CPU 20 of an imaging apparatus 1, as control of the slow moving image recording, lets a memory card 25 perform recording as a composite image in which data of a frame of a moving image taken at Yfps that is output from an image sensor 15 for a predetermined slow moving image recording time and data of the frame of the moving image taken at Xfps in a slow moving image recording period in which the data of this frame is recorded to be reproduced at Xfps are set as a first screen image and a second screen image, respectively. The CPU 20, as the control of the normal moving image recording, lets the memory card 25 record data of the frame output from the image sensor 15 for a time other than the slow moving image recording time in a normal moving image recording period other than the slow moving image recording period. Further, the CPU20 lets the memory card 25 continuously record the voice data in the slow moving image recording period and the normal moving image recording period.
