Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide On-Vehicle Camera System and Camera Lens Abnormality Detecting Method that can easily and flexibly adapt, in detecting any lens abnormality of on-vehicle cameras, to diversity of abnormality locations and thereby help enhance the accuracy of detection at low cost.SOLUTION: An on-vehicle camera system comprises reliability history preparing means 6 that prepares for each on-vehicle camera 2 a reliability history of road partitioning lines recognized from images photographed by the on-vehicle camera 2, and abnormality determining means 7 that compares the reliability histories of individual on-vehicle cameras 2 and determines the occurrence of lens abnormality in any on-vehicle camera 2 that manifests a relative decline of reliability.
